    The Official Utah State thread..........

    We just checked in to our hotel in Logan. When you pull in and see two charter buses with big A's on them, a sign hanging from the hotel that says GO AGGIES! and a restaurant attached to the hotel called Aggy's, you might want to find somewhere else to stay. Especially if you are in full BYU gear. As we are walking in the Aggies were coming out on their way to the stadium. Diondre Borel has a nasty mustache and he is tiny. Gary Anderson did not have a neck brace but he did have his laminated play card down the back of his pants already.

    Lots of looks, stares and I am assuming it was a lineman (big dude) said "The cougars are going to die" and everyone laughed. (I gave him a courtesy laugh).

    I think BYU pounds the rock, the O-line dominates. JJ goes for 100+. Jake throws for 250 and 2 tds. BYU wins 31-20.

    Why are the Aggies staying at a hotel in Logan? Just a pre-game meal and meeting?

    I loved the comment by an Aggie player on the radio this week. He was asked if he hated BYU. He responded that hate was too strong a word; but, he strongly disliked the Cougars. His reason? There are so many Cougar fans in Logan.

      Aggy's is just a rebranded Iggy's, right?

      Should be fun. I saw BYU play at the Spectrum in 2005, and the Aggie hate for BYU is so adorable.

        Most teams stay in a hotel the night before a game. I know the Utes stay at the University Marriott before games at RES.

              To establish a routine so road games feel less like road games. Also, to give the players a place to be away from distractions.

                It's pretty common. And yes, it's largely a control/curfew issue.

                  There are some ESPN Streak for the Cash bets on this game.

                  Looks like more than 90% of people think BYU wins and that Jake Heaps will throw a TD pass during the first half.

                  This is the most excited I have been for a USU game in a long time, because anything could happen. I think USU is better than they have been in a long time and BYU is obviously much worse than they have been in a while. Should be fun.

                    Oh Aggy's... how I miss Logan. Iggy's closed down one day and Aggy's appeared. Not bad food, I actually prefer it to Iggy's. There is a lot of dislike for BYU there. Every year they have cute little tee-shirts with some sort of play on the letters B-Y-U. Last year it was some sort of YBU nonsense. Anyway, there is some dislike but its pretty mild. I openly watched BYU games at the Hospital and even on campus without too much fuss. BYU is disliked only because there is no real rival. BYU is always a default rival. Ask anyone in the MWC or WAC.

                      Massive game for BYU. There's the potential to gain or salvage a lot from this season, such as a bowl game, winning record and/or surge in confidence (legit confidence -- not any of this false bravado Jake Heaps spews when he says BYU's goal is to win its next nine games).

                      Lose this game, however, and you have to wonder when the rock finally hits bottom.

                      Prior to USU's last six quarters, I would've given the Aggies a live shot at winning. Now I'm not so sure. If Pete Nelson can have a breakout game at CSU, Heaps shouldn't be too far behind. BYU wins, but if it covers, it won't be by much.

                          Agree about this being huge. Lose this one and no bowl this year.
