Thanks for all the help -)), I got the answer.... unsurprisingly, find a place with Direct TV....

So now I'm at a bar called 'Atomic Wings' on East 60th right at the Manhattan side of the Queensborough Bridge. Upside: almost empty and has wireless. Downside a little bit divey. But hey that's not all downside.
