  • Miami @ Pitt thread

Just started watching with Miami up 7.

Why is Romeus out? Also, Lewis isn't running either...?

Man, what is the deal with Pitt tonight?

EDIT: U-Ute, you have me confused. Which thread should I be posting in regarding tonights match-up between ACC and Big East giants Pittsburgh and Miami? It appears Boylen had you beat with the week-4 open thread.

Romeus was dealing with a back injury during camp. He had spasms the week after the Utah game, sat out their 2nd game of the season, and elected to have surgery. He'll be out until probably November.

That sucks for Pitt. I haven't watched much of the game yet- who is the guy filling in for Romeus and how is he doing?

They have Sheard, their other really good end, who might have moved to Romeus's side. I don't remember who the 3rd end is. They certainly haven't mentioned his name much, if at all.

Based on the two games I've seen, Pitt looks like a really bad football team and their best player was even shut down at home by New Hampshire - that's never a good sign.

Interesting that Graham seems to look a lot more dangerous than Lewis.

(edit) and he proceeds to rip off a 40 yard run.

Yeah, whats the deal with that? After last year I thought he was going to be the next Tony Dorsett. It can't be solely the o-lines fault. After watching Lewis last year, one of the big things I noticed was that he seemed to get most of the yardage by himself without much help from the O-Line.

Also, this game would be OVER if it wasn't for a handful of boneheaded Miami mistakes. Wanny's saying right now that their defense is keeping them in the game. It looks like its more Miami's ineptness than anything.

Ah, Lou Holth. I mithed you!

Yeah. They look terrible. At home. Against a Miami team that doesn't look that good either.

                          Yikes.

I think they'll get better as the year goes on. Breaking in a new QB and O-Line isn't the easiest thing to do....
