  • At event at GC CUNY w/ Christopher Hitchens

Peter Beinart and George Packer of the New Yorker.

No one thought Hitchens would actually be here in his condition and the event was scheduled before he was diagnosed. My contact here at CUNY emailed him last week to wish him the best on the assumption that he wouldn't be here and he wrote back "what makes you think I'm not coming?" He's here, baldness and all.

Sometimes I love Hitchens sometimes I hate him but the dude is a badass in more than one way.

Politics and religious beliefs aside, there are few people who are better on their feet. That is something you can admire all by itself. Somehow I missed that he was dying. That is too bad.

You should check our your local paper. A couple of good interviews with Sally Quinn on the website in the On Faith section.
        Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

You didn't know that? Was they're prayer day for him this past Monday or next Monday? I forget.

Edit: Doh. It was this past Monday the 20th. Oh well.
