What change was she looking for? No offense, but if she's CFO and her kids are at a private school, she doesn't have much to be complaining about (and she certainly wasn't the type of person Obama was targeting with his "Change" rhetoric).

She wasn't the one promising change. She hasn't got any. Nothing that Obama has done has made her life or mine any better.

From her question, it appeared that she was more focused on some sort of economic change. If she was expecting much out of the president in that regard, then she was expecting too much. But again, he was the one making promises.

And his response was pretty weak. He said 1) I gave billions for student loans, 2) I made it so your kid can get health coverage till he's 26 3) I made it so the CC company has to notify you it's raising rates...all of which helps practically nobody.

I agree with what you're saying.

I just don't pity this lady at all. If things are getting all that tight she may have to (GASP!) send her kids to public school.

That is awesome. She is someone who has realized what a monumental mistake it was to put Obama in the White House. There needs to be more people asking...no, demanding accountability of this administration for the disaster that it is.

I'm a cynic, I guess. I'm starting to believe that nothing the president does helps or hurts me in any way. Bush bugged me the most because he loved war and sounded like Larry the Cable Guy, but I haven't notice any difference in my life no matter who has been president. Granted, I've only been paying attention since Jimmy Carter. I would welcome a non-Keynesian shift in economic policy, but I really don't think the president has anything to do with economic policy. That's been ceded to the Federal Reserve.

The interesting thing is she could be one of the voters who don't think he's liberal enough and hasn't made enough "change." You can't tell through her question. It is a very damning line of questions though. "I'm exhausted defending you," wow.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

I wonder how this woman feels about the Obama ending the Washington DC school voucher program.

Right, you haven't benefited a bit, right? Because Lehman Brothers was a fluke, and all of that money dumped into the financial sector did absolutely nothing, and everyone that was going to go bankrupt did, and everyone that was going to survive with no help did, and your 401k saw no benefit at all from any of the aid poured into the financial sector.

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Then again, I don't have a lot of money to lose, and I'm a person that believes that if everyone were forced to garden, sew, make things, fix things, and live simple, comfortable, happy lives, my relative well being would skyrocket. I'm one of those guys that looked at the whole thing and just felt like the wealthiest people were attempting to preserve their wealth at any cost. So even though I would have rather had my savings hit, rather than contribute to the bailout, even this liberal can understand that wealth was protected by the action that Bush started and on which Obama had to double down. People who care about their wealth that was preserved by bailout money, who act as if they never benefited, are either blind, ignorant, or jackasses (or a combo).

Yep. For a liberal of Obama's ilk, it's all about taking care of themselves at the expense of others.

Those women in this story should be admitting that they made a mistake voting for Obama. It's just sad that so many in the African-American community thought that Obama actually gave a damn about them and their situation. Hopefully they will remember his lies and vote his ass out in '12.

In the short run or long run? In the long run, it will hurt the country more than any short-term benefit, IMO. I'm no economist, but if I know the government is going to give me a golden parachute, what incentive to I have to run my business prudently? Perhaps the Frank-Dodd Act will alleviate some of the risks, but I've read a good portion of the Bill and it mostly gives regulatory agencies authority to re-write the rules (which I think is lame).
