Sounds like basically the same thing as before, except Manny can walk at the end of 1 season (which is strange given that I thought this whole thing was about getting a long-term deal....so much for Boras and his false claims about other teams waiting in the wings)

In 12 months, Manny will be another year older. There is no 4 year deal waiting for him anymore. That time has passed.

This actually will work in the Dodgers favor. Manny will have to be on his best behavior all season long or else he scares teams off at the end of the season.

And at the end of the season, the Dodgers will still be the highest bidders for his services, anyway.
