  • Non-revenue sports in WCC

I know...can I come up with a less interesting thread title?

I don't know this guy, but he makes some interesting points about non-revenue sports vis-a-vis the WCC.

On the quality of non-revenue sports in the WCC:

On the possibility of scheduling non-revenue sports that aren't in the WCC:

To me, an indy move is a step up in football and a neutral one in Bball. I like having all of the other sports, but I don't care too much about their national prominence--I just like watching them play once in a while. So while I'll hope for the ultimate move to the B12, I still like the Indy + WCC option better than the MWC. And the road trips are way better.
At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

Why not go WAC for a year and see if they can't get some good teams to jump to the conference? If not, use WCC as a backup if the Big 12 invite doesn't come first.

BYU jumping into the WAC for non-football would put some serious pressure on the MWC for TV contracts given both BYU's and Utah's departure. The mtn would most likely pull its contract and fold. Next summer you might see some good value teams jump from the MWC to the WAC.

P.S. Fresno and Nevada would most likely stay rather than try to cough up the exit money (if they can).
