  • Seed vs Sod

We are at that point. Seed and it's lower cost versus sod and it's quicker turn time. Anybody have any strong feelings for either? And if so, can anybody provide a good recommendation for a sod farm or hydroseeder in the 801? Much thanks.

    Here's my opinion.

Small lawn: Seed. Nuy double what the package says you'll need. Keep it wet and use straw or an appropriate mulch

Medium size lawn: Sod. Better for medium size lawns, imo, not too huge that you're breaking your back putting it in (can be done in a day) and not too expensive.

Large Lawn: Hydroseed. it's generally cheaper than sod, and from what I hear and read, it's just as easy to propogate.

We'll be replacing our "lawn" next year and we'll be using seed mainly because our yard is minute. Postage stamp is a generous description.

        Frakkin' hack!

On another note - how is it getting sod or seed up and growing in Utah in September? Is that a bad time or good time...anyone have any thoughts on that?

          Isn't "seen" the gramatically-correct term?

As I recall, it is a good time.
