  • Some good news at the end of the day...

    1) A nice recruit that we beat out Utah for (Impossible! They're in the PAC12!)
    2) A home-and-home with Texas (Impossible! No one will ever schedule us!)

Throw out the independence mess and that's a pretty good day.
At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

So other than that Mrs Lincoln, how did you like the play?

I'd think you of all people might hold off on calling the death of BYU athletics on the day the Longhorns scheduled us.

Or is Texas just that desperate?

BYU beats out a lot of Pac-10 teams for LDS recruits. I thought the deal with Texas is a 2 for 1.

          1) I've heard plenty of people claim that BYU will now lose LDS recruits to Utah, who can offer essentially the same environment plus the PAC 10. I'd agree with you that our recruiting base will remain essentially unchanged.

          2) We already had a roadie with Texas. So they added on a home-and-home today.

I thought that they left the roadie contract open for more games in the future? I recall Bronco saying something like that. When all is said and done, I consider this a 2 for 1.

I'm not sure you all appreciate the insult that Nevada and Fresno have delivered to you. They'd rather be in the MWC without BYU than in the WAC with BYU. OUCH!! Of all the insults and disrespect BYU has endured of late this has to be the unkindest cut.

What does this say about BYU's prospects as independent? But this is the norm, isn't it. BYU always thinks it's right and everyone else is wrong.

BYU will always get more of the Utah county kids than anyone else.

I don't know that you could misread the activity in the past 48 hours any more than you just did. I still laughed though.

A conference lives and dies by it football teams. The WAC football without Boise St. is obviously a bigger joke than it was before. I don't think it has anything to do with BYU. Nevada and Fresno wanted to be in a conference that has better football teams.

But they were trading Boise for BYU. No?
