I have yet to meet a fan base that deserves a coach's loyalty. See HFN's attacks on Ludwig. In this business coaches are right to look out for no. 1.
I agree on the fan base. But what about the school that gave him the opportunity, the other coaches on staff and most importantly the kids on the team? They are the ones that get dicked in this situation. Who cares about the fans. He just jacked his fellow coaches and all the players of Kansas St.
I think this small coterie of Ludwig-hating excuse seeking uninformed Duck fans have been proven wrong countless ways. This is just one more.
It was not an attack, rather a statement of fact. Oregon under Tedford 34.5 points a game, Under Ludwig 2002-29.4 ppg, 2003-27.3 ppg, 2004-25.6 ppg (and a losing record). Under Crowton 2005-37.1 ppg.
Which one is the lesser of the 3 OCs there? As I said after the BYU and Alabama games, that Ludwig was not the same guy that stalled an Oregon offense for 3 years, nor was he the same OC as Utah had seen for the past 4 years. Maybe those 2 games represent who he is, or maybe years of history more accurately represent his offenses.
The ire of Ute fans during his tenure here has now been courted by two "BCS" programs. Define irony.
"They're good. They've always been good" - David Shaw.
Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

"He gets hired by the guy whose offense he ruined here in Eugene" is not a statement of fact. It's a statement of opinion. Your PPG figures do not tell the whole story. There could be a host of reasons for that. For one thing, the teams had different personnel than Tedford or Crowton. That you are still attacking him after his offense at Utah won 75% of its games, went 13-0 last year, and has won 22 of 23 games, is truly ironic.
When a true genius appears, you can know him by this sign: that all the dunces are in a confederacy against him.

Well the 2002 team did have 9 returning starters on offense left by Tedford, and the 2005 team had 8 and the same QB. So somewhere in there you keep missing the point. By any measure the Oregon offense was better before Ludwig and after him. But he was an assistant on a BCS team so that makes him unquestionably great. Since I know you are not a hypocrite please explain why since he won a BCS NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP AND SUGAR BOWL, Gary Crowton is the best coach BYU has ever had.
Did the Utah offense or defense win the TCU game? I have given him credit for BYU and SUGAR BOWL. Do you work for ESPN, what normal person says things like 22 of 23? They have played 26 games in the last two years, why do you get to be selective of which ones you count?
