I have two hot water heaters in my attic....I had a hose leak and apparently put out both pilot lights. I replaced the hose, but only one of the water heaters's pilot light will stay lit. Any suggestions? Since it deals with natural gas, I'm inclined to let a professional take care of bidness, but thought I'd check here first.

Water Heater Pilot Light Issues

You may need to replace the thermocouple sensor. It is small metal tube that sits in the flame of the pilot light and is connected back to the gas control module that controls the gas flow. The pilot light flame heats it up and it keeps the gas flowing to the pilot light when you release the over-ride button. If it is bad or if it is not in the flame then it will signal back to the gas control module to shut off the value of the gas supply (for safety reasons). The thermocouple sensor is usually about $20 or less depending on your water heater. I am sure a service guy will charge you $100 to install it.Originally posted by RedSox View PostI have two hot water heaters in my attic....I had a hose leak and apparently put out both pilot lights.
