  • Take Me out to the Ballgame

So here is a little project that I have been working on(on and off) for the last 2 weeks.

    The box base:

    Next, the support slats:

    The deck is now added:

    Putting it all together:

"The first thing I learned upon becoming a head coach after fifteen years as an assistant was the enormous difference between making a suggestion and making a decision."

"They talk about the economy this year. Hey, my hairline is in recession, my waistline is in inflation. Altogether, I'm in a depression."

"I like to bike. I could beat Lance Armstrong, only because he couldn't pass me if he was behind me."

Here is my oldest boy putting it to good use:

Nice work JIC. That is awesome. I wish I had one of those growing up. You are a true "sports dad".

It is also good to see that you have a lefty in the family.

You start by continually putting the ball in their left hand in the crib. Strangely, it only worked for one of my three boys. They all bat lefty though .

I got tired of trying to find an open field to practice pitching, so decided to explore options.

You are teaching them well. If I ever have a boy, I will force him to hit lefty.

Your boys windup looks like a lot like Lincecum, his stride his very long that will really help. Oh and great idea on the mound. Seriously that is awesome.

Very cool contraption, Jarid. The boy looks like he's pretty serious about his pitching.

I love it. I also noticed the bike rack that is usually in front of schools, libraries, play grounds, etc. This is when you know you have a lot of kids!
                I'm your huckleberry.

Yeah, and we need a bigger rack to boot (not that kind of rack, just fine there )

We would do well to be able to turn down his intensity a notch or 2, but I haven't figured that out yet.

I had him watch some video of lincecum and asked him "Do you want to throw that hard? If so, you need to be able to lift your leg that high and stride that far". He is a pretty good learner, albeit a little too bull headed at times.
