I have seen too many posts stating that they want to see the rivalry game go away. This poll is not about when in the year, but whether it should continue.

I'm fine with a rivalry similar to Florida-Miami.
I don't care if they meet every year as long as BYU has an appealing schedule.Comment

I'm ambivalent about discontinuing the rivalry. I'm against playing in 2011 in Provo as things stand. I'm certainly not against taking a year off.Comment

I've been thinking more about this rationale. How do we absolutely know that the rivalry is more bitter now than 20 years ago? We don't. One thing I do know is how the media drums up the worst events and holds onto them for ratings.
When Max Hall spouted-off last year the media had a heyday. When Morgan Scalley (a man among boys) was captured in the locker room in 2004 (admittedly a different situation, with a soundbyte that was not as lengthy) the media didn't latch on. I think it was because the bigger ratings grabbing story was Utah busting the BCS.
Point is, there is no way to gauge the bitterness. And are some over-reacting to mount Maximus' eruption last year.Comment
