  • And Reid pulls in front.

Congratulations to Nevada Republicans for muffing what could have been the easiest slam dunk of the election.

Rasmussen Reports is now showing Reid with a two-point lead over Angle. They really had to hunt, but they managed to find someone who would lose to one of the least popular Senators in Nevada's history.

It's the damn Mormon vote that's carrying him. That's why us gentiles don't trust you, you always put your kind ahead of the greater good.
There's no such thing as luck, only drunken invincibility. Make it happen.

Sharon Angle has really screwed this up. I not in the camp that thought that Reid was easily beat (I always thought Nevadans would realize his power is a huge asset to the state), but its almost like Angle hasn't even tried.
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

Only when they're Republicans. We'd throw a Democrat under the bus in a New York minute. Everyone knows that no TBM could be a Democrat, and any Democrat who claims to be a Mormon is probably just on the rolls so that the bishop will pay his light bill.

Reid blew a golden opportunity to show others that being a Mormon Democrat is OK.

I couldn't think of a good spoof thread for the rest of the title though.

If I had to choose between Barbara Boxer and Harry Reid losing in November, I would choose Boxer in heartbeat. In addition, it's incredibly unlikely that the GOP takes over the Senate this Fall and if Reid loses, then Chuck Shumer is the new majority leader. That is not an improvment.

The GOP has excellent prospects at taking back the Senate in 2012. The 2006 vintage democratic Senators will be up for reelection and the wave election of 2006 in favor of the Democrats will force them to defend a lot of seats.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”
