If not, I'm surprised. This has been a complete train wreck. It's hard to believe that so many people could be so irresponsible. How could journalists be that stupid? In fox's defense they at leats have documentation that management wanted them to be careful. The Obama administration was just as stupid - why the heck wouldn't they investigate before making her resign on the side of the road?

The President was unable to quickly assemble his team of academic experts and was forced to make a decision about whose ass to kick with limited facts, it appears he made the wrong one! I think the hammering he was taking from the far right about not pursuing any legal action against the club wielding Black Panther had him looking for an opportunity to appear "fair and balanced."Originally posted by cowboy View PostIf not, I'm surprised. President Obama is an innexperienced smart dude who is starting to run scared. He wasn't much of a leader before his popularity plummeted, and now his amateur status is being shouted from the rooftops. Credit DOCTOR Mike Waters for predicting it.
The past two Presidents are beginning to get embarassing yet funny. Both have aspects that the other side just detests to no end, and that vitriol is funny to watch but the fact that some of, perhaps quite a bit more than just "some of," the vitriol is proven accurate is embarassing. Oh well, one can hope that there is a legitimate leader out there.Do Your Damnedest In An Ostentatious Manner All The Time!

Sherrod comes out smelling like roses here. The administration looks stupid. But what about Andrew Breitbart? He has become very important in the Conservative movement, and this is clearly a black eye for him. Even though the video came from an 'anonymous source,' Breitbart took partial ownership of its content by his heavy editorializing. Sherrod has talked about a civil suit against him... it will be interesting to see if anything comes of that.

Some her other comments are somewhat interesting considering they came from a government official...

I don't understand what she is saying here. She isn't a very good speaker.Originally posted by Ted Nugent View PostSome her other comments are somewhat interesting considering they came from a government official...

Sherod: ...You know, I haven’t seen such a mean-spirited people as I’ve seen lately over this issue of health care. Some of the racism we thought was buried. Didn’t it surface? Now, we endured eight years of the Bush’s and we didn’t do the stuff these Republicans are doing because you have a black President.
The part in bold is highlighted by the video editor as race baiting, but I'm not even sure what it means. What does it mean, Ted? You are posting this as evidence of something, but listening to what she said, and now reading it, I can't figure out what she is trying to say.
Also, while this video claims to provide the context of what she is saying, it leaves much of the context out. I've looked at the earlier context a bit, and it still doesn't offer much help into understanding what she actually means by, "and we didn't do the stuff these Republicans are doing because you have a black President."Last edited by RobinFinderson; 07-25-2010, 10:13 AM.

Ok, so I've thought about it a bit more... she is saying that during the Bush years, you didn't see anything on par with what the Republicans are currently doing, and they are doing this because there is a black president. Now, we endured eight years of the Bush’s and we didn’t do the stuff these Republicans are doing because you have a black President.
SOME of the stuff that SOME of the republicans are doing is definitely because we have a black president. I've maintained that much of the unprecedented vitriol against Obama, imo, is probably a blurry extension of racism (the Obama as the Joker posters seem grossly racist to me, and they are common). I don't know... I don't think this is a firable opinion to hold. As for the 'Marxist' views on class division, whatever one thinks of communism, Marx's analysis of class division continues to be valuable.

No question about it. If it wasn't Obama - let's say it was Rice or Powell - the old guard southern GOP would have an easier time digesting the fact we have a black president. (By the same token, because of political congruence Byrd likely accepted this evolution much more easily.)Originally posted by RobinFinderson View PostSOME of the stuff that SOME of the republicans are doing is definitely because we have a black president. Jim DeMint laid bare the latent sentiment held by some: "We can break this president!"
Had the roles been reversed - let's say it was John Kerry saying it about President Powell - Limbaugh, Hannity, Beck, et al, would have gone berserk.

This is a super special team of experts the POTUS seeks advice from when he needs to start kicking ass. Would you want Barack Obama coming after you to kick your ass? No reference to wankers when describing these super special academicians! Look how he used his bully pulpit against business in a rage of populist politics and ass kicking ire, now he is reverently, quietly, softly seeking some Clinton help as he is about to assume the position and plead and beg business to take their historical records of cash and please, please, pretty please hire some people!Originally posted by wuapinmon View PostYou forgot to include "wankers" in there somewhere.Do Your Damnedest In An Ostentatious Manner All The Time!
