  • Mitt, why?!?!?

I'm as tribal a Mormon as you'll find out there, and I want to see Mitt do well. But I just don't understand this. With all the economic bad news and Mitt's experience and background, he should be positioning himself as a turnaround expert extraordinaire. He should share his vision for how to get people back to work, how to restore the housing market, and generate investor confidence.

    But of all things, START?

    Obama's worst foreign-policy mistake
    Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

I think Mitt has proven--and continues to prove--that, though he'dl be a great cabinet member, he just doesn't "get" politics enough to ever be president.

A brilliant economic mind who doesn't seem to possess the charisma or social savvy to win over a political party, let alone a nation.

There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. George Romney was a very good politician - at the personal level. He connected with people. Mitt's not as good at that.

He's been pretty opposite of his father. His father was real, probably too frank and too real for his own good. I think Mitt has over corrected his fathers mistakes and it too plastic-y and too careful.

Brother Romney is too authoritarian for my tastes. Of course, almost all politicians are.

I agree, it would be great for him to do that. But I don't see what that has to do with running for office. That's one concern I have with Mitt for President. He might actually think he could solve those problems. Maybe he could solve a few, if he stayed in the private sector and created some jobs.

By responding to Romney in such a high-profile manner Kerry has validated Romney as a leading and worthy opponent to Obama. I suppose he thought about that and decided it was worth it to do so.

Not sure if it was a smackdown after reading the article. In fact, I would say Kerry's responses may have solidified some of Romney's concerns..

Plus he comes across immature. It reminded me of how some Celeb's love to cause a public spat just to get attention... His last comment at the end reeked of that and made him look childish...

I must have been linked to the wrong article. Could you please post the link to the Kerry response that you read?
