  • Arrogance + Incompetence = Disaster

This is simply disgraceful. The arrogance mixed and incompetence are astounding:

This is exactly the sort of attitude I got worn out on from the prior administration. I would be interested to hear if there is some explanation for this. Seems politically motivated from this piece.

I agree. I heard about the Dutch offer, and the U.S. rejection, early on but

I have yet to hear a good reason for that rejection. The environmental legal concerns (which are absurd in view of the alternative of no recovery at all) could have been eliminated with the stroke of a pen.

I like the Dutch rule of giving an oil producer twelve hours offer a persuasive case that the problem is contained and, in the absence of such a case, bringing the heavy artillery immediately at the producer's expense.

Wow. I hadn't heard about this. Stupid decisions impact real people.

It seems to me that we have invested heavily in punishing BP and making sure it is they who bear the burden and cost. Maybe we didn't have the capabilities to do more, but that certainly has the appearance of making a show of sticking it to an oil company which no doubt gratified Obama's base. But that may not have been wise.

Stuff like this (the politics, not your post) makes me want to go back to Costa Rica.

If you followed Fox News, you'd have heard about this two weeks ago.

If the rest of the media would stop fellating Obama and do their job, this would be old news to everyone.

Pure arrogance and stupidity on the part of the WH.. And like IPU. I found out about this over 2 weeks ago. Actually Beck spoke about this before Foxnews reported it (Lets see how long before everyone tries to minimize this now that I have mentioned the hated Beck name.)...
