  • With budget decisions like this being made, it's amazing that Utah isn't in the same

    boat as California. The Utah State Legislature ordered $653,000 in budget cuts from the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control, even though they are one of the parts of the government that actually generate revenue. In order to make these mandated cuts, they had to close a store that turns a $3 million dollar annual profit.

    I've read about 4 articles, and every article claims a different economic loss figure, and different jobs loss number--from the same source. Wildly varying. Either the DABC is playing the Washington Monument game, or no one has the slightest idea of what is going on over there.

      The Utah legislature is not an impressive group of people. This does not surprise me.
