My daughter went up into the attic to look for something, and then got totally freaked out by the sound of creatures, a mouse she thought. Today I was up there putting some things away and I heard all manner of noises in the exterior wall, squeaking, scratching, etc. There is a layer of insulation board on top of the brick and I could clearly hear and feel a party going on inside of it. I started banging on the insulation, they started to move around, and one of them came out and started flying around. The cat, who had snuck into the attic was in heaven.
I can see a small gap under the eaves (about 1/2") where they are likely getting through. As near as I can tell from googling, the best way to get rid of them is to seal up the hole at night while they are out hunting.
Sadly, it's about 25' up, and I'm scared of ladders (fell off one as a lad).
Anyone have any other remedies? Anything I can inject into the gap in the wall to make them leave? Anything that doesn't involve climbing up on a ladder?
peace.
