It can't be that they don't like Christian schools. Look at Baylor.

Why has Texas black balled TCU?

People keep saying hell will freeze over before TCU gets a B12-2 (i.e., The Texas Conference) invite. They used to be in the same conference. Seems pretty cold treatment of a former in-state rival.Originally posted by xena View PostHuh? Same reason Houston, SMU and all the other Texas schools get jobbed. There are too many Texas mouths at the table already.Originally posted by SeattleUte View PostPeople keep saying hell will freeze over before TCU gets a B12-2 (i.e., The Texas Conference) invite. Adding another Texas team does not expand the conference. Plus, they're pissed about TCU beating them to get to the CWS.Originally posted by SeattleUte View PostPeople keep saying hell will freeze over before TCU gets a B12-2 (i.e., The Texas Conference) invite. Baylor and TCU are not good friends. It has little to nothing with Texas.Originally posted by SeattleUte View PostIt can't be that they don't like Christian schools. Look at Baylor."Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

Yes, part the reason is that having Texas teams in different conferences is that it helps keep Texas players in Texas. Or at least this is the opinion of a lot of texans.Originally posted by falafel View PostSame reason Houston, SMU and all the other Texas schools get jobbed. TCU is still pissed at Baylor for getting into the Big 12 thanks to Ann Richards. I'm sure Baylor remaining in the Big 12-2 didn't help. Baylor thinks that TCU students are whiney, rich kids."If there is one thing I am, it's always right." -Ted Nugent.

Probably for the same reasons that Utah, in 15 years when they have reached Texas's stature, will blackball BYU from joining the PAC-23."Seriously, is there a bigger high on the whole face of the earth than eating a salad?"--SeattleUte
