  • Joe Darger

I find his little fo-hawk to be annoying...it's kind of the tip of the ice berg on the annoying package that is Joe Darger...don't quite know what it is, but he just bugs.

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

Upon further review, it's not just Joe...it's Wink, Renee and everyone else. UNLV is just a team that bugs...especially on their home floor.

Could it be that his father has 7 to 10 wives at any given time?

Preach it, brother. Every time I see that pointy-headed dude, I'm reminded of the poem of John Lillison, England's Greatest One-Armed Poet, as read by Dr. Michael Hfuhruhurr:

          "Pointy Birds"

O pointy birds, o pointy pointy,
          Anoint my head, anointy-nointy.

When UNLV was in Provo a couple of months ago. The announcers went on for a while about how many tickets he had gotten and how many people he had in the stands. I kept waiting for the camera to pan up and show them. "There is his father. There are his mothers in seats L through U, and there are his 36 brothers and sisters."

I think that house just past the Jordan River along Bangerter is where Joe grew up. It looks to me like that is a 3 wife home. Nice ballfield.

I've never seen someone with a fo-hawk where my first impulse wasn't to laugh and think "loser". I usually supress it.

Something about watching UNLV in general is just an infuriating experience.

I watched their entire game against TCU last night and even during a regular season game it blew me away just how bad TCU was getting homered in the T&M.

I counted (no exaggeration) 9 BAD calls in a row that went against TCU. It's no wonder they have such a ridiculous homecourt advantage come MWC Tourney time.

                    Yep. UNLV still bugs me.

I used a reference from that movie (R-rated no less!) in my Gospel Doctrine lesson a couple of weeks ago. We were discussing personal revelation and how we sometimes conveniently ignore the still, small voice. I love the scene in TMWTB when Steve Martin, looking up at his deceased wife's portrait, tells it/her he intends to marry Kathleen Turner's character, but that he won't do it if she (his dead wife) gives him a sign that he shouldn't. The entire house then begins to shake, the portrait spins on the wall, and a female voice screaming "NOOOOOO!!" resounds throughout the home. Through it all, Martin has no reaction at all, and continues to stare at the picture. When the mayhem subsides and everything is silent again, Martin says, "....any sign at all."

So many good lines in TMWTB.

                          Inspector: You're playing God.
Dr. Michael Hfuhruhurr: Somebody has to.
