Oh come on. SU is doing some needling but what else are you really seeing over here? I think it is pretty tame compare to what we would see if the shoe was on the other foot. Many BYU fans have been nearly insufferable with their superiority as long as I can remember, as someone else said to me, I can empathize but not sympathize. I think this is about as gracious as it gets.

You are dead on with this. If it turns out the way you say it is, you should rub it in at every opportunity. When it's all said and done, I still think BYU ends up in the Big 12.

I have read more times than I can count the past few days Utah is Pac's consolation prize, BYU is more deserving and would be where Utah is but for "religious bigotry," people on the East Coast think BYU is the state's main school, Utah is going to get killed, Utah will be no better than ASU. I assume they wouldn't be saying those things about BYU if the shoe were on the other foot.

I have always said that BYU would be in a BCS conference were it not for its ultra-close Mormon affiliation, which is unusual. I don't think that's bigotry. But nor do I think Utah is anything but long overdue for a BCS conference, and well deserving. It's proved its worth in all of ways that matter to the Pac, including in women's gymnastics. I felt all last week the Utes were headed to the Pac under any realistic scenario, on the merits.

BYU has chosen to be a very unusual school in the sense of its close affiliation with the LDS church. That is why it's on the outside looking in. And it was entirely predictable. But most BYU fans didn't believe it until about six months ago.
