  • CALLING ALL ENGINEERS

Matt Simmons was on Kudlow tonight stating he believes the spill could be 120,000 barrels per day.

The spill began April 20th. If Matt is correct, that means roughly 6.5MM barrels have leaked into the Gulf.

Does anyone specialize in water fluid systems and can run a quick dispersion model to see what % of the Gulf could have a crude slick at this point??

    Gracias.

I hope you're not telling us that your anniversary is April 20.

That is certainly possible, but the quickest way to answer your question is just to consult recent satellite imagery.

I heard the other day that there is a massive plume of crude oil lurking underwater in the gulf. Several miles in diameter.

It must all be underwater, because when we flew from Miami to LA the other day, the surface didn't show any visible slicks in the area of the spill.
