The Mexican drug cartels represent a serious threat to not only Mexico, but to the United States. I think this thing could really blow up.

      Whoa! Mexico.

I've never really been, so I don't really know.

Crazy. These guys are terrorists, acting against US interests, decapitating police and threatening US citizens within a stone's throw from our border... but our soldiers are in Iraq & Afghanistan. How is this not part of the war on terror?

Some of this drug violence has already spilled over to the US.

If the US doesn't secure the boarder I'd expect violence to cross over.

Au contraire, Mexico has lots of oil.

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Sure, grease, but still lots of oil, even eclipsing Iraq, not to mention Afghanistan.

Careful what you say. Some might think you're making racist comments.

And the oil industry down there is so poorly run and technologically backward that it wouldn't take much to up that production.

We ought to annex them and let Exxon etal work their magic. That'd take care of our energy and boarder security problems.

You've got RF and BG behind the idea, so Obama should be an easy sale.
