  • What is going on in the Big 10?

I haven't read or heard much concerning Nebraska, Mizzou and Notre Dame for a few days. Clearly Colorado is bolting the Big 12 and is going to join at least one more school in the Pac, but my prediction, rarely publicly uttered, was that the Big Ten/northern midwestern conference would go to 14. I thought it would be Iowa State, Mizzou and Notre Dame. I figured Colorado would join Utah to make a Pac-12 and that BYU, TCU and somebody else would join the Big-12/southern midwestern conference.

Out of curiosity when will this all be finalized?

I'm choosing to mostly ignore your fatuity here and instead overwhelm you with so much data that you'll maybe, just maybe, realize that you have reams to read on this subject before you can contribute meaningfully to any conversation on this topic.

My gut tells me Utah is headed to the PAC10 for sure. Just being honest.

              Why?

I think BYU's chances to get picked up to play in the Big-12 are pretty good, and they would get better if either Nebraska or Mizzou also split for Big-10. I doubt the Big-10 is going to forego the revenue from a conference championship game, the issue that could really screw BYU is if ND joins the Big-10 and they decide that 12 is enough. Then there is only the Colorado slot to be filled, but I would think that BYU poses the least threat to the other Big-12 schools. BYU brings a decent market and their participation in Big-12 play wouldn't be perceived as a threat to recruiting. I would think TCU is the other good option and I ain't convinced Texas, or aTm or Tech, wants TCU in its conference.

You assume the Big 12 remains a viable entity, which is far from a foregone conclusion.

I doubt the Pac-16 is going to happen. I think the Big 12 will remain with or without Nebraska.

When will it all be finalized, does anyone know? Can it drag on until the last day of June or longer?

But is BYU really a viable option for the Big 12? I have no idea.

It takes 12 and they are now at 11. Who else are they going to add? Kind of similar to Utah to the Pac-10.

It will come down to football and the two most viable options, IMO, are TCU and BYU. I doubt the Longhorns want Coach Gary Patterson in their conference.

Didn't OU's AD already say BYU is his top choice to replace Nebraska?

I haven't had the time so I was looking to consolidate this one thread on wtf is going on with Nebraska, Mizzou and Notre Dame.

We know the Buffs are bolting for the left coast, but what about the three teams above? I can't even remember the last I heard about Nebraska. Or if Mizzou is an unrequited lover of the Big-10. What is the latest on Notre Dame, I know that they wanna wait until the bombshell of BSU to MWC dies a bit so as to not have to fight for attention, but what is going on here?
