  • Which is the better home schedule?

A poster on the Iowa State board is insinuating that their schedule is much better than the Utes schedule...

Utah Home Games: Pittsburgh, UNLV, San Jose State, Colorado State, TCU, BYU

Iowa State Home Games: Northern Illinois, Northern Iowa, Texas Tech, Utah, Kansas, Nebraska, Mizzou

Utah. Two FBS directional schools eliminates you from any "best schedule" contest, unless you are in the SEC. Then your schedule is full of power.

Iowa State has Utah on their schedule. Utah doesn't.

He's saying that Iowa St. has Utah at home, while Utah is at ISU.

Northern Illinois is FBS (MAC) and Northern Iowa is FCS (what used to be called D 1-AA).

I'm pretty sure that will change your opinion about the schedules.

                  Let's rank the two:
                  Utah
                  TCU
                  BYU
                  Pitt
                  CSU
                  UNLV
                  SJSU

                  Iowa St
                  Nebraska
                  Utah
                  TTech
                  Mizzou
                  Kansas
                  NIU
                  UNI

TCU's better than Nebraska; BYU is better than Utah (on account of the game being a rivalry game, NOT the expected comparative talent); Pitt's better than Tech; Mizzou's better than CSU; Kansas is better than UNLV; NIU vs. SJSU is a push; and UNI is a good FCS school.

Perhaps he's right, but as a season-ticket holder for the Utes I'm not complaining.

was he talking about home schedule or full schedule? And by "better" did he mean SoS?

Either way, there's one guy on there saying they've got the toughest schedule in the nation, so I'm not sure I'd take much of what they have to say without a hefty bag of rock salt.

Better is a relative term and Cyclone fans are free to say it, but "much better" is pure, unadulterated baloney. TCU and Pittsburgh could start higher in the polls than any team ISU faces at home, including Utah.

Then again, Cyclone fans have Utah pegged for another 13-0 season, in which case I would rate ISU's home schedule as being tougher than Utah's.
