USA Sevens Rugby Collegiate Championship Invitational

Didn't know where else to put this..

So I will be heading to watch this tonight here in Columbus, Ohio at Crew Stadium. Tickets are $5 bucks. Utah vs. Ohio St. is one of them..


I am pretty excited about seeing this.. 7-7 is different. Should be interesting to watch..

So Utah beat Ohio State soundly. They looked to be the 2nd best team there..


The Cal Bears DESTROYED Harvard.. It was a massacre.. The game only was 7-on-7 with 7 minutes of continued clock and they scored 42 points in 14 minutes... They looked TOUGH.. The play solid all around ad it should they were head and shoulders above everyone else...


That was fun..

I think I saw somewhere that this is being televised, though I don't know which network.

Rugby is fun to watch. I don't understand the sport one bit, but it's very entertaining.

Is BYU not in this tournament because of Sunday play? Didn't BYU beat Cal for the national title a year or two ago?

I would imagine that byu is out only because of sunday play. supposedly this was on nbc here, but i missed it. crapola.

I think they took the top 16 teams nationally for this tourney.. BYU was not in it..


There is a Utah rugby player Thresston Palamo (I htink) who is playing and he is a Utah football player.. Will be a freshman next year.. He looks HUGE among the other players. Cal did not look as tough agains Dartmouth. They won 29-0 but considering how dominate they were before that game it seemed like they had a harder time..


This will be on NBC tomorrow as well.

BYU is without a doubt a top 16 team nationally. At worst they're top 3 nationally. They won the the championship last year and lost in the championship game this year. This looks like this is a made for TV tournament and knowing BYU wouldn't play on Sunday probably excluded them from being invited.

Palamo is a stud. BYU wasn't there because of the no Sunday play thing, I'm sure CJF is right. Rugby 7s is alot of fun to watch - fast and a tourney like this would be alot of fun to attend. Hopefully they do it again next year and schedule it for another location closer to northern Cali.
