    I can't help but think its fake.

      Sinkholes are not unheard of in Guatemala, but that picture looks fake. Here are a couple pics of the 2007 sinkhole there:

                Auqestion I have not had answered: why does it look like it ends in space? It looks like a hole into a hollow sphere, with empty space underneath. Shouldnt I see brown all the way down?

                  You should see anything beyond where light reaches.

                    The more suspicious thing to me is how perfectly circular the hole is. Is that how they normally occur?

                              There is an underground river/sewer; that's what has eroded the dirt.
