louks' arm is the big question. only someone at practice would really know. the one long pass i remember seeing him throw last year was a little short. so maybe his arm strength isn't that great. but neither was BJ's, and he did ok with the offense.
Anyone seen him?I intend to live forever.
So far, so good.

Now, with that said, it was JC so we'll see how it translates.

To be honest, I really have no idea about Cain. I really don't follow recruiting much.
As for Louks, my understanding is that his arm strength is average at best. He did throw for a ton of yards in high school and most of what I heard was that it was a result of short passes in a spread offense. At Utah, he's rarely thrown the ball. The snaps he took were for running plays specifically designed for his running ability.
I read somewhere that Mannis has officially made the move to DE, so it looks like Cain and Louks will be the two guys challenging for the starting spot and according to Louks, the job isn't necessarily his to lose."Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance and the gospel of envy; its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." - Winston Churchill

I know that true freshman Jordan Wynne who decommitted from Colorado thinks he should start.
Frankly, there was a rumor on Utefans that Loucks was transferring and I secretly took it as good news, meaning that he's looking at the competition and thinking he'll never be a starting qb.When a true genius appears, you can know him by this sign: that all the dunces are in a confederacy against him.

When asked about Devonte Christopher he said that they will probably go back to trying him out at WR.
I doubt he ever sees the field as the U QB,,,and if he does it'll be strictly in Wildcat formations.

I don't think Cain would be coming to Utah if he didn't think he could play right away...then again, I don't think that FR Qb Jordan Wynn would either. I don't think that arm strength matters much in the offense as it currently is because we don't take a ton of shots down field, so I think Louks is just as capable.
One thing is for sure (or at least I hope) Louks knows he's got to compete for the job, so we should get his, Cain's, and Christopher's best effort through spring ball and fall camp.
Chad Mannis apparently has been moved to DE, so he is out of the competition."They're good. They've always been good" - David Shaw.
Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

Good be great, could be awful. I think it is a good reason for Ute fans to temper expectations about next year.
