If BYU goes undefeated in 2011, I will never say anything negative about the honor code or it's enforcement ever again and will forever endorse strongly the mixing of religion and football.

Then let's hope they go 11-1.

I am sorry but there is not even a snowball's chance in a Houston summer heat wave that BYU will win at Texas in 2011.

Of course, I assume that you are talking about the upcoming season. If BYU can grow a defensive secondary then they might have a chance against FSU. I do pray that I don't have to hang my head in shame again among my TCU friends in cow town.

I didn't read that closely. I assumed he meant the upcoming season. My comments were all based on going undefeated in 2010 not 2011.

If the game goes anything like last year we'll need a front 7 that doesn't get blown of the line and give up 300+ yards rushing. Unfortunately that's among the youngest groups on the team.

The original point of the thread was operating under the possibility of a 12-0 BYU team having to decide whether or not they would participate in a BCS bowl game if it was held on New Year's Day 2012 (which is a Sunday).

But what I didn't know until after I made the post is traditional New Year's Day bowls (notably the Rose Bowl) are moved to Monday if Jan. 1st falls on a Sunday.

Also, the opportunity to invite negative karma by starting a "BYU 12-0 in 2011" thread is a delicious side effect.

Yes, this forces BYU to bring a safety in for run support in the box which means they will have single coverage on the outside. BYU DB's are no match in single coverage against FSU's WR. Of course, if FSU can still run all over BYU there will be no reason for them to go to the air other than to keep their safety from cheating the box. If BYU's DBs could actually manage single coverage against FSU then this would help stopping the run. This seems to be a problem that BYU has with a lot of good teams. At least Hall won't be back to throw more than his share of interceptions.
