If the obscene compensation earned by Wall Street executives as they wrecked their own profession and our economy were in any sense a product of healthy market forces I'd be opposed to any government imposed cap on such compensation going forward. But they weren't. These greedy and narcisistic sociopaths are where they are because they have been beneficiaries of cirumstance and a rigged sytem. Until now, raging against the inequity of their compensation and lifestyle would have been like raging against God and the King in the Middle Ages. Nope, America is not an entirey free and egalitarian society. So it turns out that these American nobles have such a sense of entitlement that they expect no pay cut as they receive hand outs from the taxpayers. Wrong! Lots of people who can ably do their jobs will do them for $500,000 per annum, and probably more competently. Bravo Obama for exposing America's caste system for what it is.
