"The first thing I learned upon becoming a head coach after fifteen years as an assistant was the enormous difference between making a suggestion and making a decision."
"They talk about the economy this year. Hey, my hairline is in recession, my waistline is in inflation. Altogether, I'm in a depression."
"I like to bike. I could beat Lance Armstrong, only because he couldn't pass me if he was behind me."
At this point, I don't really care which team is better or looks better.
I just like to sit back and enjoy it. And yes, that does include some smack talk, but more for the enjoyment of banter than actually having anything to prove.
Just thought I'd mention that UNM did not finish 1-11 in 2008, as one poster on that thread asserted. That's how they finished last year under Locksley. In Long's last year, the Lobos finished 4-8. I know, not much better, but I think we can agree they were not completely hopeless in 2008 like they were last year.
Utah-UNM had a great series while Long was in Albuquerque. Every game was a battle (even in 2004, the Utes only socred 28 points on the Lobos), with Long stealing more than a few.
Col. Klink: "Staff officers are so clever."
Gen. Burkhalter: "Klink, I am a staff officer."
Col. Klink: "I didn't mean you sir, you're not clever."

Exactly.
BYU's been good. I'd always like to be better, but I'm happy with how things have gone.
Utah's also been good and look like they have good years ahead of them. But how they are relative to BYU is not really a big deal.

The sporting world needs more people like you Jay. I couldn't agree more with what you are saying here.

That said, I prefer Utah losing than winning. lol.
