We get plenty of headlines about those that do negative things, here is a nice positive story.

Not yet drafted but pledging a donation of $2 million to improve the strength and conditioning center and $600,000 to the College of Engineering from which he graduated. Well done.

Sure, it's great to help others and give money to other people. I agree that Suh is one of the good guys.

But why not give the 2.6 million to a charity like the United Way, Big Brothers/Sisters, or for inner city football equipment/fields, etc. instead of putting all that money toward weight machines for Nebraska athletes?

Yeah, that sounds like something he would post, I guess.

I would even give Suh a pass if he were giving the money to some small college or high school or something, but it's the University of Nebraska for crying out loud.

I have no problem when a pro athlete gives money to the athletic department of the school for which he played. After all, it was that athletic department that gave him the opportunity to continue playing a sport and get an education.

That said, I am not a fan of Nebraska and would be very happy if it's football team collapsed completely and went away forever.

As for giving money to any school, I believe it was Steve Smith who has set up a scholarship at the U. I like that because the money donated is helping the student side of a student-athlete. It would be a cool thing to see more of these kind of donations.
