  • Y of I Intrcollegiate rules

Since dropping intercollegiate athletics to make way for an expanded intracollegiate program with coaches, student coaches that is and tryouts though cuts are nonexistant I looked at there rules. If they want to do the competitive like a regular college thing just intramural I would think they should do NCAA rules. They do High School Rules.

Do they do 11 man football up there or is it still 8 man? On the site they don't do kick offs for football and Basketball has a running clock. Same as the old intermurals. No one watched the Old Intermurals and doesn't I don't think. A few may watch the new ones the competitive ones. Coaching a team looks good on resume of aspiring High School coach.

Thing is if they want to do a competitive one I think it would make sense to do ncaa or njcaa rules with Shot Clocks and the like no modifications. For time contstraint may have too. But nice to have rules like they do for regular college sports.

If I lived in Rexburg still not sure I would watch the IntraCollegiate sports the school offers. May get a few people from the community that show up. The High School would have more excitement to offer than they do. Great that more people can participate though. 10 bball courts in new auditorium. Maybe they could make a football field like ISU and U of I have. I think that activity program costs more and brings in less revenue than did Varsity Sports. People from the town can Ice Skate though and do other things to pay for what they built.

If they are going to have that nice if they did regular rules not city league rules. I was talking about all sports up there posted under football could not find another place to post it.

Has any poster on here participated in the IntraCollegiate Athletic Program at Y of I not rec but competitive. And if so how was your expereince? Nice for intercollegiate to return but does not look like possibility in near future barring major surprise. There have been a few rumors that that would happen but that is just that rumors. Then again I heard hundreds of times Ricks would never be a four year school. So change is possible.
