How exactly does one project a 3d image on a screen without 3d glasses? Anybody know?

I believe all the new 3D TV do in fact require the glasses.

I've seen some research into non-glasses 3D display, but haven't seen anything commercial come of it. I don't know how they plan to do it.

It works by separating the two images (one for each eye) similar to other 3d devices.

A special lens on the screen itself refracts light toward the left or the right, so that each eye only sees the image it is supposed to see. It wouldn't work for multiple viewers. Some systems have a built-in camera to detect where the viewer's head is so it can adjust the refraction.

3D is over-rated. It just gives me a headache.
What's to explain? It's a bunch of people, most of whom you've never met, who are just as likely to be homicidal maniacs as they are to be normal everyday people, with whom you share the minutiae of your everyday life. It's totally normal, and everyone would understand.

My wife only watched the first 10 or so minutes of Avatar before she had headaches and motion sickness. She will not be watching anything in 3d anytime soon.
