  • Stephen Paea will be a combine freak

Here is a video of him putting up 225 lbs, 44 times. This guy is a monster, how did BYU not get a kid from Snow?

I think BYU offered Tevita Hola insted of this guy the same year. Nice job on that one BYU. You sure found that sleeper under the radar guy in Hola.

Isn't Junkie friends with that guy? I thought the story was he didn't play football until his senior year of HS, and BYU didn't think he would ever be much of a player. Oops.

For every Paea, there's a Pitta.

He is not LDS is from california and moved to Utah his senior year of high school. He played Rugby growing up and decided to play football his senior year after he moved to Utah. He played 1 year at Timpview and was pretty good but really struggled in the classroom. He ended up down at Snow where his freshman year he was a backup actually to Sioeli Nau (who also played at oregon state) and Tonga Tea (Ok. State). So nobody really knew how good he was, when watching film on Nau, OSUs coaches saw him play and thought he had potential so they offered him after his freshman season. His sophomore season he tore it up and everyone came calling but because OSU offered first he went there. BYU only showed marginal interest as he lived with his girlfriend at Snow and they really had no shot at him.

In fact he said he would have gone to Utah had they offered.

Still looking back at that Snow team, they put Nau (OSU), Paea (OSU), Tea (the other OSU), Tufuga (Texas A&M), Clawson (BYU), Rich (BYU), Hola (BYU), Frischknicht (Wazoo), Cade Cooper (BYU), Asiata (Utah), Pili (UNLV) and they sent 2 guys to Troy and 2 to Idaho State, Andrew Mitchell (Oklahoma State), Casey Davis (utah State), Chris Muehleman (BYU), Shane Hunter (BYU), Chris Romero New MExico State. That does not include all of the guys that went to SUU, Dixie etc.

This is off of one team no wonder they played for back to back JC national titles.

Dammit. Are you SURE there isn't some way to take a potshot at BYU for not landing him? Help me out here.

Not all of them suck. Just every 2 out of 3 do.

I was not intending a pot shot at BYU. I could have included Utah, but I don't care who they recruit. When you have a kid that is a stud, at your feeder JC, where your HC has roots, I don't think it is to much to get kids from there.

I didn't know about him living with his girlfriend.
