  • NFL invites Tebow to New York for Draft

    http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...ork-for-draft/

Here's one that might prompt more than a few people to mutter something along the lines of, "What the hell?" (Possibly with a different four-letter word at the end.)

ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports that Florida quarterback Tim Tebow has been invited to New York for the draft.
This is so lame. Players that get invited are guys that are a lock to be in the top 10 or 15 picks. Not a should be 6th round q.b.

I know Tebow was a great college football player and all but I am so sick of the guy. I hear his name and I just get angry now.

I hope Tebow has fun sitting around until Saturday afternoon. He will enjoy watching the draft Thursday and Friday night with all the Jets and Giants fans. Hopefully one of those teams draft him so they can boo him out of the building.

How is this good for Tebow? It is always embarrassing for the last guy picked, who has to sit around and look like the last kid picked to play kickball at recess, and that is when the guy has to wait until the 42nd pick, not the 238th. How is it going to be when Tebow is sitting there all day? Isn't it true that the draft is going to be spread over 3 days this year? So is Tebow just going to keep coming back, day after day?

Maybe this means that the NFL has information that idiot is going to take a flyer on Tebow early.

I don't think it is good for Tebow. Yes, the draft is spread out over 3 days this year.

You'd have to think this is because one or more of the teams said enough to the NFL office to convince them this was a good idea.

Yep someone has made a promise.

Or maybe Goodell is going to step down and hand over the reins to St. Tebow.

How awesome would it be if Al Davis drafted him in the first round?

Well that is great that he was able to throw a little better today. I am sure what he did today will directly show how his mechanics will be when there is a rush in his face or he is trying to read a defense.

This is a joke by the NFL to invite him. And if any team takes him higher than the 4th round, their entire front office and scouting staff should be fired.

It really does make you wonder what he possibly could have shown that would change minds that quickly. If he is selected in the first few rounds I have to think it's a team using him as a publicity stunt in some sense.

Someone that covers the NFL that was there this morning tweeted that he made some changes but he also now has a pause in his throwing motion that hurts his throwing motion as well.

I can't remember who tweeted it. I will try and find it.

                          EDIT: http://twitter.com/jagsreporter

Tebow looks better. But looks like he's still got some kinks in that motion. The windup is still there under simulated pressure
Ball still going down low whenever Tebow is on the move. Looks like he's kind of forcing that new motion. Accuracy just mediocre.
Looks like Tebow worked out one kink and developed another. There's still a small loop & now a bit of a pause in motion. Mechanical looking.
Tebow doing throw-on-the-move types of drills. Still has a little loop in the motion. Looks more compact still

This former NFL scout thinks the Browns could target Tebow in the 2nd round:

@MoveTheSticks: Maybe the Browns are a sleeper Tebow team... Holmgren took David Greene in the 3rd and Tebow is much better coming out

@MoveTheSticks: RT @BeatdownRadio: You've got to be thinking 2nd round when you say the Browns right? > that's my guess..

As much as I'm sick of Tebowmania, I'm guessing that he'll conduct himself a bit better about not being the overall #1 pick better than Steve Francis did.
