decision and the supposed rumors of drinking at a recruiting party?

First of all, how dumb are BYU coaches to 'allow' that. Do they give the hosts any guidance?

Secondly, if the rumors are true, they don't drink at UCLA, USC or ND? So those schools will have a better influence on him?

Thirdly, Harmon and Gman need better sources.

    1) How dumb of a fan are you think that BYU coaches 'allow' that.
    2) BYU's USP is the spirituality and alleged higher calliber of student athlete. If that USP isn't all that, why not go to a place where you can have similar experiences through institute while competing at a much higher level.
    3) If Harmon and Gman are your sources, then so do you.

Take it up with Manti's parents then.

What was PK saying about Manti?

He doesn't say anything on his blog. No one seems to know. Perhaps you can call in tomorrow and ask him.

So it went from 80% to 0% (not even the top 3) in a matter of 24 hours and it all relates back to his recruiting visit a few weeks ago.

If you read my entire comment on #1 you would have seen that the coaches should have coached the hosts on appropriate and inappropriate behavior. The comment revolved around coaching the hosts.

                This is a good point.

"Guys, we have a bunch of recruits coming into town. I would suggest that you guys don't serve alcohol to them or allow them to drink"

"Thanks for reminding us, Coach. Almost forgot that one."

Why don't you? Or have one of you become inactive and don't hang out in the halls at church anymore?

Because certain things happened and Manti didn't want to deal with the fallout from it. Certain things that weren't known to his parents. Certain things that once they became discovered made BYU a thornier issue for Manti.

Wow...are you implying what I think you are?

That doesn't even make sense--he's not under the Honor Code right now anyway. I guess the ecclesiastical endorsement would be a possible barrier, but I can't imagine that being withheld for a one-time slip.
At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

Previous players have theoretically not been under the Honor Code in the past, but were disciplined nonetheless.

I wouldn't be surprised if recruits have to sign some sort of code of conduct document in order to make their official recruiting visit. If my wife has to get an ecclesiastical endorsement to "attend" her internet classes with BYU, why wouldn't BYU insist on HC compliance for recruits on their weekend of suds and buds?

I don't have time. Not sure I understand what church attendance has to do with the post.
