In my son's 95 Prelude I notice that after I remove the key from the ignition I hear the warning beep as though the key is still in the cylinder. Also, it can occasionally be difficult to turn the key when you want to start the car. I jiggle it around a bit and eventually it lets go and everything works fine. Any tips on an easy fix for either of these problems? I'm guessing that some kind of button or tumbler that detects when the key is in or out is stuck? Would WD-40 be my fix?

That photo has to be very saddening for Steel, given his recent performance in our CUF warfish game.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostDid someone call for a Honda guy?

Sorry I don't have any advice for you Steel (regarding the car or your dismal dice play).Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

I do but it's so worn that the computer at Wal-Mart couldn't cut a correct key. I think I could go to Honda and have them make me one though. That might be my best best.Originally posted by cougjunkie View PostDo you have the original key? Sorry. I have no clue. I like to bust knukles here and there, but I am far from being able to do an online diagnostic. But that won't keep me from talking out of my butt. So...Originally posted by SteelBlue View PostSurfah and FN Phat you are letting me down here.
Does the beeping always happen or just occasionally? If just occasionally then it's probably something as simple as the cylinder not completely being rotated to center when you pull the key out. But maybe not. My first thought anyway.
I'd suggest having a better key cut if it's sticking if the original key doesn't have the same issues. If the copies stick you might be able to file down some of the edges. Is it something that happens only when the steering wheel is locked?"Nobody listens to Turtle."-Turtlesigpic

I agree with this thought. If the original key is showing that much wear go to honda and they can get the key based of the number on the keyOriginally posted by SteelBlue View PostI do but it's so worn that the computer at Wal-Mart couldn't cut a correct key. What he says... either a new key from a key code, or file down the copy to take the rough edges out.Originally posted by Surfah View PostSorry. I have no clue.
