1. We have evaporative cooling in our house. Don't try to talk me out of it; I happen to like the moist air. I notice that Rocky Mountain Power is giving a fat rebate ($1000) to people who connect their ducting to their swamp cooler. I'm thinking of doing this to get some privacy at night, otherwise I have to leave the interior doors open.
Before I act on this, I had concerns:
1. Will the moist air of the swamp cooler rust out my galvanized ducting?
2. A large part of the evaporative comfort is due to the strong breeze. When my swamp cooler is on, it is hard to open an exterior door. But now the air direction in each room will be up, billowing from my heating registers. Will the comfort from the swamp be reduced because I wont have the cool air blowing directly on me?
3. Since my registers were installed for heating, they are all in the floor. Will this create a layer of cold air low to the ground instead of about 4' up?
Basically, anyone else have evap cooler ducting? How do you like it?
