  • BYU volleyball tonight at UCI

I have noticed that we don't really discuss other BYU sports besides football and hoops, but does anyone else attend the volleyball matches?

We always go try to attend when they play locally. UCI is obviously the easiest....that match is basically a BYU home game. Coach Patchell's parents hook all of us up with tickets (they live here).

With matches against LBC, UCSD, SC, UCLA, CSUN, and Pepperdine, it is always possible to catch the cougars several times per season.

My wife and I are heading out tonight on our date night.....everyone is heading to In and Out Burger, followed by BYU volleyball. Should be fun.

I might even see BDB, as she usually shows up at some of the volleyball matches.

We go whenever the Cougs play at Stanford and BYU fans tend to comprise a majority of the audience there as well. I don't recall seeing a volleyball game at Cal; do they even have a team?

We're heading out for dinner and Fiddler on the Roof, starring Mrs. Doubtfire's brother. I think I'd rather be joining you.

That In-n-Out at the University of Chinese Immigrants is the busiest I have ever been to. I liked the VB game I watched at UCI, you feel really close to the action.

ha. that is funny. it is very true. UCI is very Asian-friendly, so is ucla.

That particular shopping center also has a Vietnamese sandwich shop that is dy-no-mite....nobody speaks any English, most of the menu on the wall is in Vietnamese (or tagalog?), and the service is lousy. But the sandwiches are delish. I think they cost less than $2. That place is always packed, too.

The last time BYU came to town, we approximated 75% BYU fans. And the place is usually quite full (pretty small venue). Kids running everywhere and nobody spending any money on concessions!

When I lived in Provo I never missed a game. I was friends with many of the players while I was there. Growing up in California we made it to lots of games. We used to attend the CSUN games pretty regularly.

I guess the Provo In-N-Out is the busiest in the company. They have not wanted to leave it staffed by newbie locals so the company has been sending out seasoned Californian employees.

I went with my brother last year to the UCLA game when he was in town.

              He's big into volleyball.

I will probably take my kids to one or two games, since with get some free tickets with Football season tickets.

It all depends on if my oldest wants to go see baseball games or not. I would prefer volleyball.

Hope you had fun at the game.
