  • Tim Tebow's Super Bowl Ad..

Looks like he and his mother plan to do a Super Bowl ad against abortion.

His mother will talk about how she had a choice of aborting Tim but instead chose not too..

    My favorite quote:

The commercial is also highlights the strength of Tebow’s religious beliefs, something the general public may not be aware of, she said.

“The UF community itself knows that he is very religious and he’s done a lot of humanitarian work,” Middlekauff said. “I don’t know if the public knows that. They’ll know after this.”
I think we (or at least anyone who has watched 5 minutes of a UF game over the past 4 years) are all keenly aware of Tim's religious beliefs.
"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

Yeah, the article talks about how the head of LGBT affairs for the University of Florida got a phone call from an alum who was absolutely enraged that Tebow would be in this commercial. My question is, what is the head of LGBT affairs going to do about it? What would the university even do about it?

Also, why do they have a couple of people representing the LGBT community commenting on this? If the ad is as purported, a pro-life commercial of some sort, I'm not sure the relevance of LGBT groups to the discussion. They did quote a poli-sci professor who is head of a pro-choice (really, we all just know that means anti-life ) group on campus, but he didn't have really anything controversial to say, which is probably why they turned to the LGBT people, which I guess must be their stand in for all things liberal and such.

Wilbon made a good point on PTI about this situation noting that even the most mature and polished 21-22 year old kid doesn't understand what kind of backlash he will face from the pro-choicers.

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

Good for Tebow and his mom. Someone who is that well known needs to stand up to defend the truly innocent.
