Wild. Fortunate people there.

I just found out about this. Landing an A320 in the Hudson, in that area, is insane. That pilot deserves a medal.

That's a very busy area for tourists, as it's just north of the Times Square area and where the Circle Line starts its great boat tour of Manhattan. It's also a fairly busy port area, with a couple of cruise ships using the docks there, although that's more in the summer and fall. Still, I imagine a lot of people were treated to an awesome spectacle, at no additional cost.

Yeah, had a project I was supposed to manage not been delayed I would have had a perfect view of it from 11th Ave.

Yeah, sounds like that CoCo-based pilot did it well today.

I bet he'll have some interesting lectures in the future too...

“I had a long conversation with the pilot, he walked the plane twice and made sure that everybody was out.”

The pilot was identified as Capt. Chesley B. Sullenberger, III, 57, of Danville, Calif.

Captain Sullenberger, a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy, has been a pilot for US Airways since 1980. In addition, he is a visiting scholar at the University of California at Berkeley’s Center for Catastrophic Risk Management.

On a similar note, Laker jerseys are of much higher quality than Jazz jerseys.

Also, the Otis elevator in my office building is way better than the Otis elevator in yours.
