  • BYU's biggest wins?

On CG I asked Cali to list for me the teams BYU had beaten ranked in the top 25 at the end of the season in its entire history. Here's what he listed:

    1980: SMU, #20
    1991: Iowa, # 10 (tie)
    1996: Kansas State, #17

    Is that it? Ouch.

    Manti and X, take note.

Do you ever tire of analyzing BYU? Have you considered just being a fan of your own team?

Weird that with so many victories over the Utes in the LaVell era, the Utes don't appear even once on that list.

BYU has had three chances to beat Ute teams finishing in the top 10. Fail each time.

Look, Utah had no history to speak of before 1994. Utah has eclipsed BYU's tradition in the last five years.

Manti and X would never bother to read the drivel here in deciding whether to committ. Everyone take note.

which means that the U has a "tradition" of winning that seems to span about 5 or 6 years, as opposed to 3 or 4 decades.

Uh...Miami 1990 is a bigger win than Utah has ever had, or probably will ever have. And that's just off the top of my head. I suspect Cali didn't put much time or thought into the question (or at least as much as you've put into it, li'l bro).
At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

This is a funny quote because you mean it to be a slam on BYU. But what you are really saying is, of all the times BYU has played Utah (every single year), Utah has only been ranked highly 3 times.

                      I also like this quote:

Look, Utah had no history to speak of before 1994.

You sycophant. Oklahoma was 6-6 in 1994. I don't believe anything else you write.

Uh, bigger than the Sugar bowl? I don't think so.

Bama was ranked no. 4, it was in the SUGAR BOWL, and as a result Utah wound up no. 2.
