  • Can I assume that the Ute board is going absolutely berserk over McCoy's comments?

Or are they as complete and total hypocrites as I assume them to be?

Which comments? Did he say he hated everything about Alabama? Did he give praise for divine intervention on behalf of the Tide because of their righteousness? Did he say he doesn't know if he's ever faced a top ten team?

    Please be more specific.

Yawn. In fact, that's a triple yawn.

Dumb post. I do however think that Ingram's comments were worthy of mention. He specifically said they "deserved to win". It brought a smirk to my face because I think, much like Max, Ingram's intention was not to invoke thoughts of a divine right to victory but rather a sense that they worked hard enough to earn the victory. Still it sounds a bit self-righteous in both instances.

Funny, TheBYUGal basically said the same thing when she heard McCoy. It's OK to talk about God in sports unless you're at a religious institution.

As a sidenote, what was with Dareus's "comments" on the podium? Serious Joakim Noah redux, if you ask me. I still have no idea what either of them were talking about, and I think it's funny that the interviewer in both cases cut the session short.

BYU fans listen up: Collie envoked God not to thank him but to imply he blessed him for living right. It was an embarrassing moment. Please remember this distinction. Also, I secretly love him for saying it and helping to increase the hatred by our neighbors to the North.

As a member of the same church, I am embarassed by the sharp contrasts in this post.

You made my point. It makes me laugh that a self-righteous kid that plays for my team makes a silly comment and the ALUF's of the world take exception. It lets me know the rivalry is alive and kickin'.

I really liked McCoy's comments. It shows a lot of maturity. He definitely went out of his way to congratulate Alabama multiple times. It's too bad McCoy's college career ended this way.

I'm surprised they didn't interview Colt's dad...between him and Mark Ingram Senior, I'm surprised they had any time to talk about the game.

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

Fixed. Collie knew what he was doing and did it well.

                        I think you're probably right.

That and the checks sent to Collie by Monson & Graham and PJ & PK for guaranteeing their radio audiences for the next 6 months...
