I haven't heard anything one way or the other. I hope he chooses to go as it will benefit him in many ways that football never will."Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance and the gospel of envy; its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." - Winston Churchill

I saw two missionaries in the street today. I felt like grabbing one of them by the arm and saying, "You can leave. You don't have to be here. But you best not return home if you do."When a true genius appears, you can know him by this sign: that all the dunces are in a confederacy against him.

But imagine the power of that idea to a kid like that (if he could grasp it, which I doubt it, at his age and stage): "You don't have to keep doing this, you can just leave, and you don't even have to go home."Originally posted by Portland Ute View PostReturnin' home deserves shot! When a true genius appears, you can know him by this sign: that all the dunces are in a confederacy against him.

Just because your mission was an incredible failure doesn't mean it will be for everyone else.Originally posted by SeattleUte View Post:bsflag:

As I said, just because you failed doesn't mean others will.Originally posted by SeattleUte View PostI was a zl for 14 months. I wasn't ap because I didn't pass the loyalty test.

Guys like SU. They typically end up bitter and angry that they were never made APs.Originally posted by il Padrino Ute View PostAs I said, just because you failed doesn't mean others will.
And who defines a successful mission as becoming an AP?
Maybe that is at the heart of SU's perspective.

I like this. I never considered leaving the mission, but if I were in that spot, I think this would have been a lot of fun. After all, if you're leaving the mission (i.e. rejecting the church), why return right back to your church-centered pre-mission life?Originally posted by SeattleUte View PostBut imagine the power of that idea to a kid like that (if he could grasp it, which I doubt it, at his age and stage): "You don't have to keep doing this, you can just leave, and you don't even have to go home."Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.
