Is little Kruger not going on a mission?
When a true genius appears, you can know him by this sign: that all the dunces are in a confederacy against him.

He actually left last week, but plans to be back by the end of July. He received his trunky papers already, in the MTC.

I haven't heard anything one way or the other. I hope he chooses to go as it will benefit him in many ways that football never will.

I saw two missionaries in the street today. I felt like grabbing one of them by the arm and saying, "You can leave. You don't have to be here. But you best not return home if you do."

But imagine the power of that idea to a kid like that (if he could grasp it, which I doubt it, at his age and stage): "You don't have to keep doing this, you can just leave, and you don't even have to go home."

Just because your mission was an incredible failure doesn't mean it will be for everyone else.

I couldn't grab them both at once. I'd look like a crazy man.

                    I was a zl for 14 months. I wasn't ap because I didn't pass the loyalty test.

As I said, just because you failed doesn't mean others will.

And who defines a successful mission as becoming an AP?

Guys like SU. They typically end up bitter and angry that they were never made APs.

Maybe that is at the heart of SU's perspective.

I like this. I never considered leaving the mission, but if I were in that spot, I think this would have been a lot of fun. After all, if you're leaving the mission (i.e. rejecting the church), why return right back to your church-centered pre-mission life?

                              Successful mission = AP???

No wonder you left the church.
