Oh well, someone else will get that honor. I bought this in wall ironing board when we moved into our house April of 2006, and installed it today. Still in the single digit 2000s! That is a victory.

Look how messy ldc's craft room is!

    Looks good, man.

I really wish I knew how to do some of this stuff. I love watching all those shows where people do awesome stuff with their home. We've got some talented people here in the area of home improvement. I love seeing all that you guys can do.

Thanks, this is weak sauce stuff though. There are guys on the board that can do real home improvement, not just cut a hole in sheet rock. I am pretty sure a blind monkey could do what I did today.

Looks good HFN! Now install an electrical outlet to the inside of that box so you dont have to run an extension cord to iron!

What's below a blind monkey on the home improvement scale?

Nice work. I've been thinking about doing something similar in my house, but the space in the laundry room is very limited.

I have the same ironing board... except mine was installed when the house was built in 2005. If you ever come visit, I'll let you check out my ironing board. :yikes:
                        This space is available.

I should have come up for the bowl game/Polar Express party.

I've seen and used his ironing board. Seen/used one, seen/used them all.

But you still should have attended the Polar Express Party.

Just do it. It's a bit scary at first, but none of it is really very hard. In the last year, I've done a ton of work in our basement - I've studded, dry-walled, mudded & taped, plumbed, electrified & done finish-carpentry. I ran new water lines. I put in a new toilet and shower. I tiled the whole bathroom. I installed an external window (which means I cut a hole in the side of my house). I had never done any of this stuff prior to this.

Youtube is actually a tremendous resource for all this stuff. The hardest single thing I did was figuring out how to do a four-way switch. I read two different DIY books that tried to explain it, and couldn't figure out what they were talking about. But after watching a 3-minute youtube video, it was crystal clear.

For home repairs/improvement, you can learn a heckuva lot just by trying it...
