    Mike Leach suspended at TTech

    For treatment of Craig James' son after thinking he was faking an injury. I bet he gets fired over this.

    Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

    Did Leach play football at they Y? I ask because he would have been there when BYU and SMU played in the Holiday Bowl and perhaps Craig James is still bitter about it.

      Good question. Leach is actually one of the few college head coaches who never played college ball, although he did attend BYU. Perhaps, though, James is just taking his frustration out on Mormons in general.

        I think Leach is one of those rare coaches who never played college football. He was a student at BYU in the early '80s, but saw the field the same way I did, from the stands.

        And yes, I type slower than my colleague, Mr. Reilly.

          Leach is my favorite coach this side of I'm-a-man Gundy.

          This kind of publicity can't bode well for him, though, coming on the relative heels of his comments about his players' "fat little girlfriends."

              I quit football in HS because our coaches withheld water on a regular basis to punish us in the sweltering heat of Dallas in August.

                Leach might want to hire another lawyer. His attorney said that that he did make him stand in the shed for 2 hours each time. But the circumstances were not because he thought he was faking. It was due to other disciplinary actions.

                    Wasn't Tech wanting to fire Leach just this spring for not signing an extension or interviewing elsewhere? I bet they can him.

                            No kidding. Speaking of, we successfully diverted a friends' kid from TT to BYU. We drove her to the airport to go home for Christmas and she freely admitted that "we told her so". She is having a blast.

                              Good - I remember you talking about trying to steer her away. Man, I wouldn't wish Lubbock on anyone.
