I think that the need for a Home Improvement Forum is here. With the current market conditions, more and more homeowners are completing DIY projects. It would be a shame that these projects, experiences, pictures, and moments be lost in the Back Fence, SE, and other existing forums (or is it fora?) We have various people with a vast knowledge of construction, design, and general know-how.

I like it, though because of my gross incompetence in all matters of home improvement, I could end up electrocuting myself with a virtual fusebox.

Still, I gave it a thumbs up. It never hurts to find ideas to request that my dad ends up doing for me.

I understand the concern of less traffic than other forums. I do believe there would be similar traffic/posts as the Bike Shop. It would be a shame to see these DIY projects get lost in the shuffle. Maybe there is more of a need for all DIY projects including home improvement, auto maintainance, carpentry, landscaping, gardening, etc.

I voted for it. I was initially opposed, mostly because of the experience on CG where there was seemingly a forum for every conceivable topic. It seemed cluttered and made the board look dead when the last post in a forum was months old. But I'm tired of looking at everyone's magnificent handiwork in the Back Fence and feeling bad about my ineptitude. Another forum would allow me to completely ignore the budding Handy Mannys amongst us, kind of like I do the exercise forum.

I would be more worried about monkeyboy and any forum that that starts with the letters fu. I would hate to see what that keyboard of his might come up with next.

Is there even a snowballs chance in hell that this is going to happen? I thought I would try to slip the thought in here while DDD is absent. I am well aware of his opinion on all things manly.
