So, does that pretty much debunk the theory that BYU fans won't spend any money in Vegas?

This guy in the comments section was pretty deluded:

UCLA would bring 50 people to the Las Vegas Bowl if we were lucky. The PAC-10 has some of the worst traveling fans in the country and the LV Bowl should have dropped them years ago.

The dream matchp for the LV Bowl should be MWC#2 team vs. Big Ten/Big-12. That is where the money is.

The PAC-10 is a disaster travel wise and should not even be allowed to enjoy the city of Las Vegas in ANY SPORT unless they invite UNLV to join their conference. Las Vegas should have a complete BAN on any and all PAC-10 teams being allowed in our city limits until they invite UNLV to their party. Allowing the PAC-10 to enjoy the fruits of Las Vegas is a mistake. We must wise up and wise up quickly in Las Vegas before UNLV is left behind forever in the upcoming Conference Realignment.

For 30,000 people to pump $14 million into the local economy they would have to spend at least $485 dollars each. Does anyone actually believe that BYU fans who sleep 12 people on their mormon friends couches, eat at McDonalds are actully spending $485 dollars in Vegas each? Get Real.

You want to see people who spend money. Get a MWC matchup of Wyoming vs. a Big Ten team like Wisconsin! That would be a financial dream for a city like Las Vegas.
The PAC-10 or BYU will never spend any money in this town. They shouldn't even be allowed here.

It just goes to show what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. Lets say you spot a fellow EQ member in the strip club, he can't tell anyone because he will be admitting he was there also.

I've been to the Vegas Bowl 4 times; I have always stayed at a top notch hotel (Two nights each time), eaten at least one or two meals in nice restaurants (but also dropped by the I/O), done Christmas shopping, rented cars. I don't gamble or even drop coin in the nickel slots, but I guarantee you that my contribution to the Vegas economy exceeded $500 on every one of those visits. Some may sleep 12 to a couch, but that is a very old stereotype in my book.

I think BYU fans are in general more prosperous now than they were 20 or 30 years ago. As BYU has gotten harder to get into, the undergrads are more likely to go to top tier grad schools, etc.
